The emperor August with soldiers and their war booty
Ca 1660-1665 (1 of 2 drawings)
Made by Van Egmont as a design for one of the tapestries around the life of the emperor August, executed by Jan Frans Cornelissen between 1665 and 1685. We are grateful to Dr. Bert Schepers for his research and identification.
The tapestry made after our drawing is in the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (see attachment).
