Landscape with figures

This lovely little work is typical for Stalbempts early period and the stylistic influence of Jan Brueghel I is obvious. Stalbemp creates his own fantastic world on a small panel, using the classic 3-part plan: brown-green-blue. "Despite" the fantastic detailing, he does not lose sight of the overall picture.
